Lolo's surf cantina
Park side at Stanton 161 ocean drive, Miami Beach Florida, USA.
Miami! City of colorful arts deco buildings, white sand beaches and great restaurants. It's a fascinating place to be.
Stumbled upon a particular place on ocean drive, lolo's surf cantina. This cozy indoor/outdoor space offers many options especially street eats like tapas, tacos, quesadillas, chalupas and cocktails.
You can stay inside and chill before/after the beach. Lolo's made an adaptation that allows you to order a takeout even while on the beach. They will give you a branded Lolo's fridge bag so that your food stays hot or cold at the beach.
Their Mexican inspired menu has a vast range of options. You can choose from four types of tacos, and it’s two tacos per order; prices range from $10-$14. That might seem a little high for two tacos, but it all makes sense once you see them: They’re stuffed to the brim. They have the carnitas, vegetarino, pescado frito and rib eye tacos. We settled for the tacos and a double patty bacon cheese burger.
The vegetariano is one option that caught my eye. The mix of smoked oyster mushroom, cauliflower, tomato confit and pepita pesto turns each bite into a mini-adventure. It’s a journey that you never want to end.
The Pescado Frito is another great option. A fried-to-perfection bite, it’s already cut up into nice bit portions. This item comes with five tortillas, that means you can go wild and make whatever you want.
The burger was ridiculously huge for a mouth bite. I think any burger too big for a mouth bite shouldn't be called a burger, maybe a super burger or something, I don't know. I'm so cheesy with names. Talking about cheese this burger had a lot of it. I like how the patty is so compact, firmly pressing on the fresh buns. Really good burger.
This was a really great eat out experience, and it's not just food that's available here. Lolo’s beverage program showcase a refreshing selection of beers, cocktails, margaritas, non-alcoholic aguas frescas, and an extensive list of tequilas and mezcales.
Hats off to Chef/Partner Richard Ampudia and Chef de Cuisine Lourdes Herman on creating a slew of stellar selections with several surprises.
