Lately I've been getting interested in Japanese cuisines. They seem to always have an alternate or more adventurous perspective about cooking. They lay so much emphasis on presentation and seasonal ingredients. Rice with Teriyaki chicken sauce in pineapples is one simple home made meal that does well with presentation. Easy to make, requiring 45 minutes or less.

The recipe does not include the pineapple. The pineapple is the vessel/bowl. Although pineapple does sweeten up the chicken a little. You wont believe how easy this is. The hardest part is probably scooping out your pineapple to make a vessel. Don't discard the pineapples! They can be eaten later or utilized for a smoothie/juice.

INGREDIENTS
- Pineapple
- Canola oil
- Soy sauce
- Honey
- Brown sugar
- Sesame seeds( if you wish)
- Rice
- Chicken( wings/thighs)

PREPARATION
1. Scoop out the flesh of each half of pineapple till you're almost reaching the "green"

2. Heat oil. Add chicken and let it heat up for two minutes. Then add soy sauce, brown sugar, honey and stir. Keep stirring occasionally as it boils for about 10 minutes. Be sure you have a well blended thick sauce. Add sesame seeds (If you wish). There! you have your teriyaki. Some people prefer finely minced garlic for a bit of pungent and spicy taste.

3. Scoop already cooked rice in each pineapple and add your teriyaki.

You're welcome.

P.S: You can also add prawns/shrimps or any other seafood if you wish.
