Johnny Rockets 1411 Adetokunbo Ademola St, Victoria Island, Lagos. Decent parking. Word on the street is that this is the best burger in Lagos. Actually not on the street... A couple Instagram friends and twitter comments/posts have highly suggested the love Lagosians have for Johnny Rockets. Well... Johnny Rockets is an international restaurant chain that adapts the northeastern American diner setting to create a burger and sandwich shack regardless of the locality. Johnny Rockets looks pretty much the same everywhere. But whether it tastes the same everywhere would be a debate for another day. Panorama view of Johnny Rockets The Johnny Rockets at VI is a really large Space nicely decorated on a retro grey tone background. The Americana vibe is really emphasized with the various artworks/paintings/writings on the wall, tabletop jukeboxes and the diner decor. It’s not a carbon copy of what Johnny Rockets look like in US but it’s close enough. The menu is an idyll of hamburgers, sandwiches, and hand-dipped shakes in all sorts of remake, combo and attraction. Visual appeal is well thought out here, I like that about Johnny Rockets. You’d be deep in thoughts, already salivating before you realize the price of what you already “mind ate”. But don’t let’s get too ahead of ourselves... The meal service was good. Waiters trying their possible best to make sure you have a great time and spend all your money. Lol Settled for a Rocket double burger, Rocket single, chicken wings with a separate plate of fries. The Rocket burger (whether double or single) is Johnny Rockets standard cheeseburger served with cheddar cheese, iceberg lettuce, fresh tomato, white onion & special sauce. It’s not honestly the best looking bun but the thought put into the layers and resulting compactness is commendable. With Johnny Rockets the issue of burger fillings falling out and making a messy burger is tackled with the neatly wrapped papers. I mean you can take it out of the wrapper if you want to but the mess burgers make has always been an issue for some of us. The Rockets double burger The patty is well grilled with just the right amount of spice and covered with melted cheese. Melted cheese isn’t something seen often in Nigeria. The grilling doesn’t just stop with the patty as the onions and lettuce have a grill taste to it also. The wings came with two different sauce, a mustard sauce and some “peppery stew ish” based sauce, not sure what it was exactly. But it was great, “peppery head scratching great”. The double patty in the rockets double burger Ratings ⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ Price Rockets Double burger- N4800 Rockets Single burger- N4100 Rocket wings- N3600 American fries- N1400 Recommendation Johnny Rockets is expensive as hell!!!!! There’s no logic behind a burger of that price not coming with fries and some sort of drink. Even more annoying it’s not even the best burger in VI, not to talk of Lagos. But if your pockets can overlook the ridiculous price then it’s a great place. Also it’s a large space so you can have a large gathering here. Really great aesthetics here. |
