FOOD SHACK 32 Ologun Agbeje St, Victoria Island, Lagos The Home Of The Flaming Fork is what I like to call it. Food shack is a literal shack with a great sitting area. As with almost all nice restaurants in V.I., if you’re not looking for it you’re going to miss it. There’s a “signboard” which is a fork with a flame on top of it [or is it a flame with a fork on top of it?]. I honestly do not remember but it’s a combination of those two things. The area where the food is made is a little shack inside the compound while the sitting area is situated below a furniture store in the same compound. I think that is one of my favourite things about it- no smoke blowing into the sitting area to irritate my precious lungs. In addition, I absolutely love the interior; glass walls all around with wooden chairs and tables and flowers. My absolute favorite thing however is the menu. Seriously. Everything on it looked so good that it was difficult to choose a meal. After a lot of back and forth, I settled for the cheeseburger with cheesy fries and a strawberry milkshake. My drink came immediately and it was so good; tasted like I’d stuck a straw in an ice- cream bowl. Yum.  A few minutes later, my food came. It looked so good that I didn’t want to ruin it by eating it. Lol.  The burger was huge, messy and it came through dripping [Drip! Drip!]; but aren’t all good burgers that way? It tasted really nice and garlic-y; which was fine but I will definitely request that it be reduced next time. There was bacon in there too and cheese and lettuce and tomatoes, etc. Bits and pieces kept falling out but I honestly truly did not mind.  The fries were amazing and they tasted….well, cheesy seeing as I had ordered cheesy fries. Oh btw, if you go there, definitely dip your fries in your milkshake [gross? Nah. It’s a place where you can go for a casual lunch or dinner, etc. but probably not for romantic outings. There’s just a casual feel to the place which is not bad. You can literally go there, sit and put your legs up or something. So, it feels really….homey and it’s my go- to place for casual dates. They also have amazing portions so, definitely go hungry. Additionally, they deliver but just make sure you’re not super hungry before calling because they take forever to deliver and I think that’s the only thing I don’t like. Overall, an amazing place. Please go there!
